Around thirty people get harmed by Russian attack on Shostka railway

(MENAFN) Ukrainian officials reported on Saturday that a claimed Russian strike in the city of Shostka, located in Ukraine’s northeastern Sumy region, harmed around 30 people by targeting a railway station and passenger trains.

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko stated that the assault struck both the passenger trains and the railway station, characterizing the incident as “a double targeted strike.”

She stated that the “rescuers, medics, and railway workers are working at the scene -- they are helping the victims and assessing the extent of the damage.”

According to Svyrydenko, Moscow intentionally carried out assaults against civilian facilities and places where many people gather.

She stated that “the world has no right to ignore it. Ukraine needs more air defense systems, tougher sanctions against Russia, and decisive actions from partners. Only this can stop Russian terror and save people’s lives.”
Zelenskyy also denounced the assault, labeling it “a savage Russian drone strike.”

Zelenskyy stated that “the Russians could not have been unaware that they were striking civilians. This is terror the world must not ignore,” he also stated that at least 30 people were harmed, including both Ukrzaliznytsia railway employees and passengers.
